Want to donate some items for a great cause?
We accept many types of donations, but we do have some quality guidelines. Because books will be purchased by others to read in their homes, we accept only new or gently used and clean items or rare and best loved treasures. We do not accept donations of moldy, dirty, written in, defaced or otherwise damaged items.
Visit our little book houses in any of the following areas. These drop-off locations are accessible 24/7.
As we prepare for the fair, we will stop picking up books from the book houses on March 27th. Please do not drop off additional books after that date.
Please note that holidays or unusual demand may affect our schedule. We will always return to the following rotation as quickly as possible:
“After 10+ years of partnership, the Galleria has asked us to remove our collection box or begin paying a monthly fee. We are committed to keeping expenses low so that as much funding as possible goes toward grants for local literacy and education programs. The Board discussed and decided that the fee was too high for us to keep our collection box at the Galleria. A new site will be announced soon. While we had hoped to keep the collection box at the Galleria until the end of March, we were informed that it must be removed by Friday, March 13th. Thursday, March 12th will be the last day drop-offs will be accepted at that location. The next closest collection box is in Clayton, in the upper parking lot at the Northwest Corner of Forsyth & Jackson – Books are picked up on Thursdays. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your continued support!”
To schedule a drop-off at our warehouse in Maryland Heights, please contact us. Someone will be available for dropoffs from 9am-10am Monday through Friday, but by appointment only.
The last day for home pick-ups will be Friday, March 23rd as we prepare for the fair. Book House pick-ups will resume during the second week of May.

Donations may be tax deductible. Please email info@stlouisbookfair.org to request a receipt post card. At this time, we can not provide a valuation of each donation. However, we suggest you use the guideline of $1 for mass market paperback books and $2 and up for hardback and trade paperback books.
